Through our capacity building activities, ISOKO provides civil society organizations with the skills needed to deliver gender equality interventions. ISOKO works with organizations to develop, design and implement strategies and provides technical assistance on programs. We also provide opportunities for individuals and organizations to build knowledge and expertise and promote innovation and good practice, including through research, training, and sharing of practices amongst organizations.
ISOKO aims to conduct independent research and policy analysis on key issues affecting gender equality and peace in the Great Lakes Region. Our advocacy and policy positions are driven by evidence of what is effective and what people actually need and want, and we work to advance our positions at the national, regional and global levels. We help partners to understand and navigate relevant policy processes and positions, and become central to the debates.
ISOKO seeks to conduct comprehensive monitoring and evalutating of the local implementation of UNSCR 1325 and UNSCR 2250 in Africa. We intend to provide a mechanism for NGOs to hold key actors accountable in advancing the WPS and YPS Agendas in the continent, and improve participation of women and youth in key policy issues.
