Type of Work: Part time (Flexible), 6 month placement with possible extension.
I. About the Organization
ISOKO Partners for Peace and Gender Equality Inc. is a 501 C (3) tax-exempt international organization based in the United States of America working with women and youth’s groups and other civil society organizations for peaceful and prosperous communities, free from gender-based violence. Since its creation in 2017, the ISOKO has grown into a global structure network seeking to support new ways of strengthening positive engagement of international and national institutions as well as women and youth grassroot organizations, to promote sustainable peace, democracy practices and sustainable development in conflict-and or post conflict affected regions.
ISOKO and its technical and financial partners are actively supporting the ISOKO Working Group of Women and Youth for Peace and Security in Africa and the ISOKO Academy for Democracy and Development programs.
ISOKO Working Group members are particularly advancing the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) and Youth, Peace, and Security (YPS) agendas through the localization and monitoring of UNSCR 1325 and UNSCR 2250 at both country and regional levels in Africa. ISOKO Academy for Democracy and Development creates a unique and sustainable model of Women and Youth participation into local and national governance, peacebuilding and community economic recovery processes from gender sensitivity and conflict sensitivity approaches.
The ISOKO’s mission statement is: Engaging youth, women and men in equal partnership to develop integrated and innovative approaches to build sustainable peace, gender equality and economic prosperity.
II. POSITION SUMMARY:

If your answer is yes to any of these questions, ISOKO Partners for Peace and Gender Equality Inc. is looking for you to design and implement the Advocacy and Partnership Development plan and strategies.
III. Key responsibilities:
In collaboration with ISOKO’s Executive Leadership, Program Managers and Coordinators of the ISOKO Working Group of Women and Youth for Peace and Security in Africa and the ISOKO Academy for Democracy and Development associates at local and regional levels, you will perform the following key tasks:
Research, Advocacy & Partnership Development:
Conduct research and write briefs on key topics, synthesizing literature to inform internal strategies and external communications.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the alignment of strategies and effective communication of goals.
Develop compelling content on innovative approaches and success stories for external multi stakeholders, community of donors, governments and maintain relationships with partners.
Engage with diverse stakeholders, including governments, civil society, and multilateral organizations, to advance ISOKO’s advocacy and fundraising objectives.
Identify and monitor advocacy and networking opportunities and initiatives within the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region, EAC, IGAD, the African Union, the UN Security Council activities on Women, Peace and Security (WPS) as well as on Youth, Peace and Security (YPS); and Sustaining Development Goals.
Support ISOKO staff and members to design and implement research and advocacy programs locally, regionally and globally.
Collaboration:
Work closely with internal teams and external partners to strengthen ISOKO activities and ensure the effective implementation of integrated strategies.
Support the ISOKO Leadership Team in building and maintaining high-quality relationships with advocacy partners and donors in New York and among the Permanent representatives to the UN, to advance ISOKO fundraising and advocacy goals.
Travel up to 20% may be required.
Qualifications
Undergraduate in International Relations, Human Rights, Women’s and Gender Studies, Conflict Studies or equivalent certificate;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information.
Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, both internal and external, to achieve shared objectives.
Background or proven experience in global policies and international laws at the community, national, regional and global levels;
Being gender sensitive and conflict sensitive and interested in working with women or youth grassroots organizations to promote peace, gender equality and sustainable development;
Good writing and public speaking skills.
Fluency in English is required.
Proficiency in the French, or Spanish, or Arabic language is an asset.
