Mrs NYANZOBE is a human rights defender and peacebuilder, and Co-founder of ISOKO Partners for Peace and Gender Equality. Mrs NYANZOBE started her career as trainer and coordinator of women’s programming at Search for Common Ground. In 2006, she co-founded Fontaine-ISOKO in Burundi and served as its chairperson. There, she designed and directed many policy and peacebuidling initiatives, and coordinated its Women, Peace and Security Program. She is the Deputy Chairperson and Representative for Central Africa for African Women Active Nonviolence Initiatives for Social Change (AWANICh), and has participated in numerous regional and global peacebuilding initiatives, including with Women Peacemakers Program, Women for Peace and Participation, and Global Network of Women Peacebuilders. Seconde’s research and policy interests include women’s political participation, localization of UNSCR 1325, partnering with men for Gender Equality, VSGBV survivor rights, and transitional justice mechanisms. Seconde holds a degree in Pedagogic Sciences at Burundi National University and studied Entrepreneurship at Université Lumière de Bujumbura. She currently lives with her family in Canada.
