I.ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
ISOKO Partners for Peace and Gender Equality Inc. is a 501 C (3) tax-exempt international organization based in the United States of America working with women and youth’s groups and other civil society organizations for peaceful and prosperous communities, free from gender-based violence.
Since its creation in 2017, the ISOKO has grown into a global structure network seeking to support new ways of strengthening positive engagement of international and national institutions as well as women and youth grassroot organizations, to promote sustainable peace, democracy practices and sustainable development in conflict-and or post conflict affected regions.
ISOKO and its technical and financial partners are actively supporting the ISOKO Working Group of Women and Youth for Peace and Security in Africa and the ISOKO Academy for Democracy and Development programs.
ISOKO Working Group members are particularly advancing the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) and Youth, Peace, and Security (YPS) agendas through the localization and monitoring of UNSCR 1325 and UNSCR 2250 at both country and regional levels in Africa.
ISOKO Academy for Democracy and Development creates a unique and sustainable model of Women and Youth participation into local and national governance, peacebuilding and community economic recovery processes from gender sensitivity and conflict sensitivity approaches.

II. POSITION SUMMARY
ISOKO Partners for Peace and Gender Equality Inc is looking for a self-motivated person with passion for digital communications and social media to join the team at ISOKO Partners for Peace and Gender Equality Inc. for a part-time, flexible placement for 6 months with possible extension.

III. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
In collaboration with ISOKO’s Program Manager and Program Coordinators of ISOKO Working Group for Peace and Security in Africa at local and regional levels and the whole ISOKO network, you will
- Identify and Document success stories from the ISOKO Academy for Democracy and Development
- Document the impact of the ISOKO Working Group of Women and Youth for Peace and Security in Africa at both local and regional levels;
- Develop content for ISOKO’s social media channels and newsletters to advance youth and women’s rights and promote peace, democracy, community development through communication and advocacy;
- Create compelling content on innovative approaches in transforming toxic masculinities and gender norms to promote gender equality through social media communications,
- Draft articles for the ISOKO website
- Identify ideas for social media posts, and draft content for the ISOKO Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram feeds.
- Plan content based on upcoming events, workshops and campaigns.
- Develop and update the social media guidelines for ISOKO.
- Join team calls and meetings as needed.
- Coordinating the ISOKO newsletters development.
Other tasks can be discussed based on your individual skills and interests, as well as the priorities of ISOKO Working Group of Women and Youth for Peace and Security in Africa and ISOKO Academy for Democracy and Development programs.
IV. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Strong personal time-management.
- Strong organizational skills,
- Attention to detail,
- Self-motivation,
- Fluency in English. Proficiency in the French or Spanish, or Arabic language is an asset.
- Experience managing public social media accounts for organizations or groups.
- Demonstrated abilities and skills to produce quality written content.
- Demonstrated abilities and skills in researching and processing information from a broad range of sources.
- Strong analytical skills related to social and political norms and structures.
- Interest and understanding of democracy practices, youth and women’s rights,
- Interest in engaging boys and men as allies for peace and gender equality work.
- Education or work experience background in communications, gender studies or related fields will be an advantage.
This role can be done remotely, wherever internet connectivity permits. Travel up to 20% may be required.
You will need to be in close, regular contact with the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Program Manager of ISOKO Academy for Democracy and Development, the Program Manager of ISOKO Working Group Coordinator using video calls, instant messaging, and email and interact with the ISOKO communities of practice at local, regional and global levels.
V.TERMS
This position requires 2 to 3 days per week and the number of hours can be mutually agreed, along with the financial remuneration. All applicants are expected to be able to work for 6 months.
